Microchanneling
Microchanneling
Microchanneling is a non-invasive procedure that uses tiny, ultra-fine needles to inject clinically proven growth factor serums derived from stem cells directly into the skin. This stimulates the skin’s natural healing process which triggers the production of collagen and elastin as part of the healing process. Microchanneling improves skin laxity and reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, age spots, and stretch marks.

Microchanneling treatment may be appropriate to treat the following concerns:
- Age spots
- Acne scars
- Stretch marks
- Mild to moderate wrinkles around the eyes
- Large pore size
- Skin laxity on the face, neck, decolletage and other body parts
- Clients not quite ready for a more aggressive treatments like Microneedling
The needles used in Microchanneling are tiny and fine so most clients typically describe experiencing mild discomfort. Deeper treatments can be more painful sometimes compared to getting a tattoo. We offer topical anesthesia that can be applied prior to the procedure.
- Avoid topical agents that may increase your skin’s sensitivity, such as retinoids, topical antibiotics, or acids for 3-5 days prior to your treatment.
- Avoid unprotected sun exposure or sunburn for at least 24 hours prior to your treatment.
- Discontinue using any waxing, depilatory creams, or electrolysis in the area for 5-7 days prior to your treatment.
Microchanneling and Microneedling are similar techniques. There are some differences between the two. Microneedling uses thicker needles than Microchanneling (which uses very fine needles), so it can be more painful and require longer recovery times. Microneedling is better for tackling deeper wrinkles and scarring or for someone who has more advanced aging textural changes in need of improvement.
The number of Microchanneling treatments you may need will depend on the severity of your skin concerns and the results you are hoping to achieve. We typically recommend a minimum of 3 sessions, spaced about 4 weeks apart. A series may be repeated as many times as necessary until the desired effects are achieved. You can expect to observe noticeable improvements in your skin about 2 to 3 weeks after each treatment.
Microchanneling is generally safe for all skin tones and well-tolerated by most people, though it may not be the best choice for everyone. Some of the factors that may make Microchanneling a poor fit include:
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
- Individuals with active autoimmune disease
- People who are prone to keloids (raised scars)
- Certain medications, such as blood thinners or immunosuppressants
Microchanneling is typically well-tolerated and requires little to no downtime. You may have a mild reaction that looks like a sunburn, but this usually lasts less than 24 hours. For the initial six hours after treatment refrain from washing your face. That evening wash your face with a gentle cleanser and apply moisturizer to the treated area. After your treatment, your provider will discuss a customized skincare regimen to maximize and prolong your results.
Results from ProCell Microchanneling can vary among individuals, but many clients begin to notice improvements in their skin texture and overall appearance just a few weeks after the initial session. The treatment initiates collagen production, which continues over the course of several months, leading to a gradual enhancement of the skin’s condition. The longevity of results may vary depending on factors such as age, lifestyle, and compliance with medical skincare and sunblock.
